Thanks to a series of mechanical upgrades highlighted by the addition of a turbocharger system, reprogrammed ECU and a catless exhaust, the BRZ's 2.0-liter flat-four is said to produce a massive 440-horses…at the rear wheels.

We may have many questions about longevity, reliability and what it does to the car's handling around corners, but when it comes to a straight line, there's no doubt that this BRZ rocks. The modded Subaru coupe recorded a quarter mile time of 11.3 seconds with an exit speed of 127mph (204km/h).
 
I don't make that kinda bank lol, would be nice tho.. I prob wouldn't even attempt to get one for another couple years. I heard there's gonna be 2014 brz sti, still NA but kinda makes me wonder how much it will be. Since they already start at 26k. :bleh:

you know that a few places have tested the 12si vs. the 13brz and the si won by a tenth of a second?
 
The Si had the summer Michelins though. Plus RWD is so much moar funs... :dopey:

I still haven't had all my fun w/ this car, so like I said before it'll be down the road..

To get these figures, the 2.0-liter boxer engine was equipped with a turbocharger, an AEM Tru Boost Controller and a high-performance exhaust system. There's also an upgraded fuel pump, new injectors, an Exedy clutch and a reprogrammed ECU. Thanks to these modifications, the car produces 440 hp (328 kW / 446 PS) and 340 lb-ft (460 Nm) of torque - at the rear wheels." Kit is around $5k
 
So for ~$30K you could have a little FR-S 440hp monster.......interesting.

Wow, that's more power/torque than my (stock) vette.

An installed SC for the vette would be about 9K+, and would put over 600 HP at the rear wheels. I'd be afraid of breaking things though, and would probably have to "upgrade" some other items to be safe. :hiding:
 
^ which is a question to the motor/trans strength of the fr-s.... can it take over double it's stock rating safely? How long.. :nervous:
 
I'm thinking 2014 time frame now lol, I've spent the last couple nights watching vids of both brz/frs. Def gonna be next car!
 
VTEC over shitty boxer engines imho WAYYYYYYYYY tooo problematic
