9thgen interior lights/courtesy lights work on 8thgen?

hey, I own a 2007 SI and want the interior courtesy lights but stupid 8thgens can only get them in blue.
Does anybody know if the red ones for the '12 civic will work on my car?

It will work. My manager has his 8th gen (2011) modded out cosmetically only and he gave me a few festoons for interior LED lighting and they fit right in perfect with no problems.
 
so the plug and size work 100% without altering anything?
 
Correct. He took it out of his dome light and I popped it in my dome light and tested it and it works fine.
