Just got my Honda Civic 2012 LX a number of months ago, love it, but I'm wanting to upgrade the stock audio to an aftermarket system. I listen to electronic (dubstep, deep house, dnb progressive) and some jazz as well - so I'd like to add some nice clear, responsive bass as well as improve the front speakers. I plan on leaving the rear speakers as stock for now. My price range is $500-1000 when all is said and done.

After doing a lot of research, I went with purchasing a Alpine SWR-12D2 (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45522_Alpine-SWR-12D2.html). It's a DVC with 4 ohm impedance per voice coil. Peak 3000 W, with an RMS of 300-1000 W. I'll be ordering a BELVA MDFS12 12" sealed enclosure ( http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_951_Single-12-Sealed-MDF-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Belva-MDFS12.html) because that should loud enough for me and I like the benefits a sealed box has regarding responsiveness to quick bass sounds and not worrying about tuning like in ported boxes.

I'm looking at buying a Hifonics X1000.1D (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_76258_Hifonics-X1000.1D.html). It's a 1000 W Brutus X-14 Series Class-D monoblock 1-channel amplifier, with built-in high and low pass filters. The plan is to run the DVC in parallel off of this amp. Each coil having an impedance of 4 ohms, there would be a 2 ohm load for which the amp would supply 700 W.

Am I doing this right so far?

Front and rear speakers would run off the stock power system like normal - am I right to say that is the stock preamp in the head unit?

I might get some JBL MS-62C's (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...t[query_id]=33037765&SearchClickout[Ignore]=1) for the front, but I would prefer coaxial because I don't want to drill any holes for the tweeters. Any recommendations that would compete with these component speakers?

Any thoughts on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Pretty new at this so there's alot I'm probably missing. I have a mechanic friend who is good with electronics to help me out with the install.

Thanks very much for your help!

You could get some A-pillars for an EX model which would have tweeter openings if you wanted to do components up front.
