Fresh watermelon from our grocery store tonight.

Click the image below to see the video

It had oozed a huge puss puddle all over the floor...my dad could have slipped on with his bad back. I went to find an employee to take care of it before someone got hurt. Many of them came to look as they'd never seen anything like it. Lmao

One of the older guys carefully carried it away as if it were going to explode. It was just nasty lmao they all talked about it for a while, especially the young guys

Zombie watermelons. I don't recall watermelons to be so oblong.

I think it's what photobucket did to the image. If you click it and watch the video it's probably normal looking

Ohhhhh. It's a video. Lol.

It's probably a dragon's egg waiting to hatch. :rotfl:

I have done a bit of research on this and the few stories I have found have come to a conclusion of fermentation. Makes sense, but yeast has to be introduced . Either way it would suck to cut one of those open, I am pretty sure it stinks.

Yeah that was my guess too. It left nasty creamy colored fluid all over the floor

I have never seen a watermelon with rabies!

I have seen all kinds of crazy things in the produce department and can confirm this is a bit of an oddity.
Source: I used to work in a very high volume produce department for nearly five years.

dentrecords sent me this:

I can guarantee it would not smell nearly as bad as a rancid one.
