So for the foreseeable future my car is going to be an outside car (non-garaged). Ill also be at school (university) parking lot which may most likely be under a tree which birds may sit on and poop a lot. So I thought about investing in a car cover since I dont drive a lot (maybe once or twice a week) Any suggestions on a certain car cover? I feel like this shouldnt even be thread worthy. Or any other suggestions on up keep since its outside, a **** ton?

Hmmm... I have no real suggestion... Most detailers don't recommend car covers ever from what I've read. I think as long as its a quality cover that is made to fit your car you would be good to go. Keep it waxed up and protected helps the most. Also make sure the car is clean before you put the cover on. You don't want to cover a dirty car and have the motion of the cover grind dirt and scratches into your car. Or to put the dirty cover on a clean car and have the same thing happen.

there is an overkill of information here:

thanks man, im assuming both are machine washable ?

The best way to wash a cover is to hose it down while the cover is on the car, usually done at the same time you're going to wash your car.

Detailers don't recommend car covers probably because it takes business away from them. I'd put one on my civic but I'm in and out of it too often to bother with one.
