I have been living in New Jersey for almost 15 years and this is the first time that this has happened. Power went out in my neighborhood at around 1:30pm last Saturday til this moment. I also heard that the power will be back up in a few more days. Yes, a few more days. My house has been freezing for the past 2 nights that I can see my own breath. My neighborhood is pitch black during the night and it is pretty creepy (best place to go trick or treating).

I actually did not expect a heavy snowstorm last Saturday. The trees were definitely not ready for this.

I live in PA and we fortunately got power back on Sunday afternoon after 24 hours of nothing..... So I feel your pain

I was not hit by this latest storm, but I've been in 24hr blackouts before. It sucks... time to take one of those downed trees and get a bonfire going to warm up..

The two day blackout made me feel like a caveman. The good news is, power went back on at 8pm. I was in school the whole day today so I didn't need to experience a third day of a freezing, dark home. Also, bonfires are illegal in my town. If it wasn't, I would be burning all the downed fallen branches in my neighborhood.

I say all laws are off when there is no power and you need warmth. Another positive... if they really threw a fit, you'd end up in a warm jail cell for the night

Yup, we were out 30 hours here (same after the hurricane too). There are pockets of homes within a few miles of me which are STILL without power :(

There were a bunch of trees down on my street in NJ
was pretty crappy, but we only had a few quick power outages.

No power for over 72 hours now. Being told to wait another 48.

BTW, this includes no water either. Using a small wood stove to heat one section of the house.

I am at work now, which obviously has power.

Sorry to hear about that Ken. I can't imagine living in a house without power for five days. You don't have a generator?
