Let's say, one day, I'm tired of having mugen spoiler and want a Si spoiler or a small trunk wing, it means that new holes are required to drill due to the different bolt position.

My questions are

1. Do you buy a new or used trunk lid, then paint, and swap ?

2. If not, can I just drill new holes and let the spoiler sits and covers the old holes? Currently, the holes drilled for mugen wing is on the edge of the trunk lid where the water drainage channel is. My friend and I guess it should not be a problem and water should not go inside the trunk.

I want to hear more ideas and opinions.

Thank you

If the new spoiler covers the old holes, there is no problem. Others have done that. If you get another spoiler that doesn't match up you have a few options. You could swap trunks/get a new one, or you can have a body shop fill the holes on the old trunk. They'll essentially weld the holes up & then respray the trunk.
