Embarrassing car crashes and road accidents in pictures
A couple had a very lucky escape after nearly reversing their car off a 15m drop in Changsha, capital of southern China's Hunan Province. The man and woman were parked on the top of a car park when the incident happened. It is thought that whoever was driving mistakenly trod on the accelerator, causing the car to reverse. This sent it smashing through the wall around the edge of the car park and left the vehicle teetering precariously over the 15m drop below. The couple were forced to crawl carefully out from the vehicle and were luckily uninjured.
A woman driver ended up parking her car in the roof of this Italian house after she forgot to put on the handbrake. Maria Rizzo, 34, stopped to admire the spectacular view from the street above the house in Alassio in northern Italy. But she was so intent on taking a snap that she forgot to put on the handbrake, and her car rolled away, smashing through a barrier and plunging down the hill onto the house below. It broke through the roof and landed in the bathroom, with the front end wedged in an iron bath which broke the fall and stopped the Fiat Panda plunging further into the house. A police spokesman said: "Luckily no one was home at the time - so nobody was hurt, but the owner of the property did have a surprise when they arrived home"
A Mercedes hangs from the 7th floor parking garage at the Bank of America in Oklahoma. The car backed through the wall after the driver's foot stuck on the accelerator. Debris rained down to a parking lot below, damaging several cars. No injuries were reported
A New York Department of Sanitation salt-spreading truck that crashed through a wall on the second floor of a repair shop in the Queens borough of New York is supported by a crane. Firefighters used a cherry-picker to rescue driver Robert Legall.
A van's brakes failed, barging a Ferrari into the sea. The bright red Ferrari 360 Spider was parked at the edge of the harbour while its owner was eating at a restaurant just ten metres away. He then watched helplessly as a white Renault Master truck crashed into the back of his 185mph convertible, pushing it over the edge and into the water. The incident was captured on the Croatian island of Pag in the Mediterranean sea by Tibor Szirovicza.
A motorist had a lucky escape when his van careered off a mountain road. In a scene straight out of The Italian Job, Daniel Lyons was left hanging in mid-air after his vehicle plunged down the rock face in Colorado and dangled on a precipice
Here's a million dollar car crash. This is the embarrassing moment a motorist caused chaos in Monaco when her Bentley was involved in a collision with four other sports cars. Hundreds of tourists watched in shock as the hapless blonde crashed her £250,000 Bentley Azure outside the Principality's Place du Casino. The driver of a white Mercedes S Class worth £75,000 was the first victim as the Bentley scraped down the side of it before crashing into a £140,000 black Ferrari F430. An Aston Martin Rapide worth £140,000 and an £80,000 Porsche 911 both suffered damage after being involved in the incident.
The driver of this car tried to negotiate her way out of a traffic jam - only to drive into a lane of freshly laid cement. The driver, believed to be a lawyer, was attempting to perform a U-turn when she made the embarrassing mishap in front of scores of bemused construction workers. She then had to sit in the car at dozens of passing locals took pictures of the £70,000 Lexus GS in Houston, Texas
A driver smashed through the wall of a second floor car park in Chongqing, China, after mistaking the accelerator for the brake. The vehicle was then left poking precariously out the side of the structure. Huang Xiaoping, who lives next to the car park, saw the incident. He said: "I heard two explosion sounds. When I came out I saw a car was stuck on the wall on the second floor of the car park building, and the front wheels were still rotating. I thought it was a movie shoot." He said he didn't see the driver at first because the airbags blocked the view. Later he saw a man and a woman climb out of the car; both were unhurt.

A tow truck operator tries to figure out how to tow a Jeep after the driver drove through the back wall of his own garage, falling one storey to the ground, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The driver said that as he was returning home, the vehicle's accelerator stuck and he couldn't stop before hitting the house. The driver was not hurt
A novice driver smashed through a newly built wall in Hangzhou, eastern China's Zhejiang Province. When driving home at around 11pm Mrs Yu smashed her car through the wall, which had only been erected a few days previously, surrounding a construction site. Mrs. Yu said: "I always drive down this street, and I don't know there's a new wall here."
