Hey guys,

I was checking my fluid levels today and noticed an exposed braided wire in my engine bay. It appears to be bolted to the chassis so I assume it’s a ground for something.

Is this supposed to be exposed or am I missing a cover for the wire? I haven’t modified my vehicle and I’m the first owner.

Vehicle: 2013 Civic EX (1.8 liter)

My flash is broken so I held a flashlight in the area for the photos.

While staring at the car, this image is showing the right-hand side of the engine bay where the battery is located (hopefully the gradual zooming shows orientation)

Probably a noob question, but I couldn’t find an engine bay schematic with enough detail to cover this or a photo of someone else’s engine bay with this wire in the picture for comparison.

I mentioned this a long time ago. I'm kinda surprised that the 8thgens have them insulated. You can shrink wrap the wire if anything and completely cover the exposed wiring.
