Friendly dog meeting curious cows makes internet hit
Video of a dog in Newcastle being greeted by a herd of inquisitive cows has become an internet sensation garnering over 500,000 views in just a few days.
A cute close encounter between Lucy the boxer dog and a herd of cows has become an overnight internet sensation. After being shown on an American TV show, the clip has been viewed more than half a million times on the web more than a year after it was first posted.
The funny meeting sees Lucy approach the herd, who instead of scarpering, come in for a closer look. The cows surround the six-month-old puppy and sniff her. Filmed out on one of their favourite walking routes across Newcastle's Town Moor, Lucy's owner Simon Falconer is struggling to get to grips with his pet's new-found fame.
The video is being viewed by people as far away as Mongolia, Chine and India." The footage was actually filmed a year ago when Lucy was just a six-month-old puppy. Simon said: "The cows came over and they looked interested and so I started filming.
"Lucy was really calm about it and it really looked like they were communicating. I don't know if the cows maybe thought she was a calf."
He put the clip on YouTube for family and friends but it was only just recently that it was picked up by another website and then rocketed into the limelight. Simon added: "So many people have commented on the video too, it's amazing that Lucy has sparked so much debate about issues ranging from Darwinism to veganism."
