Good afternoon! :) I am trying to move my amp from being mounted on the back of the backseat to under the passenger seat. Best Buy originally did the job, so they are doing it for free. The problem is he is slightly incompetent. He is unable to find a ground. Everything else is good, but he was trying to drill into the frame. Three hours in, he had to stop, because I had to go somewhere. Can someone please help? I am not looking forward to sitting at Best Buy for another three hours this evening. I see screws in the seat rails. I don't know why this is so hard...Thanks for the help.

The bolt on the back of the seats has been measured to be a perfect ground. Took this from the DIY section. Lift up the carpet (held down by velcro), take the bolt off, and scrape off the paint down to the bare metal.

Here's a link to the entire install.

Anyone use any locations towards the rear of the car on the sedan?
I am just waiting on the high pass wire to arrive, I have an Infinity Basslink, that I already mounted in the wider space on the left side.
I am thinking about trying one of the tail light studs/bolts after sanding it down, but is there a better location??

The location I quoted is actually behind the rear seats. That pic shows the rear seat bolt. That wouldn't be far enough back for you?

No, the wider part of the trunk to there I for need another 14+ inches on the ground wire. You know where I mean where it's wider right? I know where you are saying is good, but I wanted the basslink off the spare tire cover, so I already used self tappers to mount it in w L brackets

I ended using the bolt under the seat. You have to remove the small bit of moulding, but then it works great. I actually drilled a perfect size hole in the moulding to prevent the wire from getting crushed.

Has anyone put the amp or sub/amp combo in the wider space in the trunk?

Gotcha, that makes sense. There has to be something under there to use. Worst case, drill a hole (careful of the gas tank!) and make your own ground. Someone on here had to have used a different ground location than the seat bolt! I wish I could help :(

I appreciate it bro, like I said, if no one has an idea, I will sand the area arounf the tail light stud/bolt, and use that, it just may not be thick enough, but the basslink isn't a really agressive amp so it may work. Thanks man

UPDATE:
So that ground location works, I used the cars factory subwoofer to line in the high pass wires to the amp
but now the sub is playing super low. Is it better to run it to the rear speakers instead of the factory sub?
I'm thinking the line output may be much lower and that's why the basslink is so quiet now

Im actually confused how you have or what you have setup in your system. Maybe draw/ms paint your layout and we can look over where its not working.

Alright so I have a stock head unit, and I am running an Infinity Basslink (amp/sub combo)
Since its a stock head unit you use a 4 pin harness instead of the RCA cables
There are 4 wires that come out of the Harness- a Right + & - , and a Left + & -
I put the 2 positives together, and the two negatives together, and ran those to the positive and negative to the stock subwoofer.
I don't know if that effected the Ohms maybe? Or If the stock some out put is too low maybe?

I hope that all makes sense, and thank you guys btw

Yeah, I see they places the - & + signs on wrong on one side lol so I fixed that, it's way louder, but now there is a humming coming from it even when the car is turned off......
