Anyone have an opinion on the "hill holder" function on the 2014 Si? I find this feature a bit annoying. I'd love to know if it can be turned off, but there does not appear to be a button for it like for the VSA.

This makes sense. I couldn't find any information on what it's called - I think Subaru calls it "hill holder."I think it's called "Hill Start Assist"
I can see how it might be helpful for some, and for learners, but I'm not a fan. I have a very slight incline coming out of my neighborhood, and the feature always engages there. I'm would hope there is a way to turn it off, but have yet to find one. Maybe I'll ask the dealer.Depends on the hill and how large the incline. It's not at all annoying, it just does what it's supposed to do and keep you from rolling back. I've been driving manual transmission cars for a long time without a hill-holder feature but it is convenient.
As we have many hills around here, I'll have to give that a try. However, I don't exactly know how often I'd be sitting on a hill in neutral...I believe it'll only engage when you have the car in gear. If you're on a hill in neutral and let off the brake/depress the clutch/put it in 1st to go.... I believe it won't activate.

Imagine being at a stoplight on an incline. Foot on brake - car in neutralAs we have many hills around here, I'll have to give that a try. However, I don't exactly know how often I'd be sitting on a hill in neutral...
I suppose you're correct. I know just the place to test it out too.Imagine being at a stoplight on an incline. Foot on brake - car in neutral
report back with your findings pleaseI suppose you're correct. I know just the place to test it out too.
I wish the 13 had it, but I shouldn't be cheating while learning lol
Jury is in...report back with your findings please

It engages both in gear and in neutral. However, if you are sitting facing forward on an incline and put it in reverse, it does not engage (I fully expected this result, but tried it anyway to confirm).
