One of the star attractions at Honda's stand at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing is the new Concept C study that gives consumers a first look at the company's upcoming family saloon model that will go on sale in the country next year.

Honda says that the "C" in the car's name represents "Cool," "Challenge," and "China." The production version of the distinctively styled four-door concept will launch exclusively in China and will be built by the company's local joint venture, Guangqi Honda Automobile.

According to the Japanese automaker, the product planning for the family sedan was led by Honda's Chinese associates and the development was done through cooperation between development teams in China and Japan. In addition to the unveiling of the Concept C, the company's joint venture Guangqi Honda Automobile announced plans to build a third production line at its existing ZengCheng Plant.

The construction of the third line will begin at the end of 2012 and become operational in 2014 with an initial annual production output of 120,000 units. Honda said that it is planning to further expand the capacity up to 240,000 units in the near future.

Honda Concept S -

Below we have the Concept S, which supposedly stands for "Stylish," "Smart" and "Surprise." Like the Concept C, Honda says Concept S will spawn a production model that will debut in China in 2013, with global sales following thereafter. Honda isn't saying exactly what is powering the S other than mentioning it's a hybrid.

i think they need to do something like this with the new accord. they're playing it too conservative in the US. I know they don't want to screw up a good thing, but look at what Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Chevy, and the rest of the competition is doing. They're taking chances and it's paying off with higher sales and increased market share.

Super aggresive styled ILX?

lf the rear didnt have the tails connecting under the tag it would be nice. Front....it's just a mess.

Update: Honda S Concept added into 1st post

I just bought you the C as a present

When is the delivery? Need to know so I can have a delivery made to the house of the special wrap car manu. put on their pre-production vehicles when they drive them in the streets for testing. I would put that on the car so people would be drawn to that and not the ugliness that is the front end.

lol... It'll be at your place in a week

I like the look of the C personally...at least I'd take it over the Detroit Accord coupe concept. I even like what they did with the front unlike some others here. Obviously, the front grille insert is not functional and the hood could lose a few creases, but overall it looks like it has lots of character. I would buy an Accord that looked like this without reservation.

definitely looks more aggressive in design. The way the accord concept was talked up, I expected much more departure from the previous generation.
