10/03/2011 - TORRANCE, Calif.
American Honda Motor Co., Inc., posted September sales of 89,532 vehicles, a decrease of 8.0 percent, the company announced today. American Honda year-to-date sales reached 859,797, down 6.2 percent versus last year, based on the daily selling rate*.

Honda Division posted September sales of 79,522, a drop of 8.2 percent versus September 2010. Honda trucks posted sales of 41,375, an increase of 7.0 percent due to strong sales of the CR-V, Pilot and Odyssey. The CR-V was the top-selling model for September, with sales of 19,604, up 9.5 percent. The Pilot posted a sales increase of 27.9 percent on sales of 10,306. The Accord recorded sales of 18,639, down 13.8 percent and the Civic, which is nearing full production, posted monthly sales of 13,724, down 26.4 percent.

"Our U.S. manufacturing facilities are finally up to full production and the results are starting to show with increased CR-V, Pilot and Odyssey sales,” said John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of sales. "Truckloads of new vehicles began arriving the last week of September and shoppers can now feel more confident that they will find what they want at their local Honda dealer."

Acura Division recorded September sales of 10,010, a decrease of 6.6 percent versus September 2010, and year-to-date sales of 89,146, down 7.9 percent. The TSX was the top-selling Acura model for the month with record September sales of 3,112 up 37.9 percent.

*The daily selling rate (DSR) is calculated with 25 days for September 2011 and 25 days for September 2010. Year-to-date DSR is calculated with 229 days for 2011 and 228 days for 2010. All percentages reflect DSR.

ridgeline owners forums claim there is a "next generation coming" - total redesign. The latest RL style has been in production since 06, & the zdx... well... :turbobananapoke:. Ever tried to sit in the back seat of one? Watch your head on entry/exit. The element will also be chopped at the end of the year. They may have already stopped production at this point, I don't know.

In Canada we are unable to get any Elements any more. Lol we still have an 09 on our lot that has never had an owner. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE that toaster, but if its not selling i have to agree with Kennyg

an 09 unsold?? good grief... what price are they asking for it?

Given the earthquake/tsumami in Japan and the bad overall economy, I am surprised sales are not down more than this. As Ken said, looks like a few models should get the axe. I hope that since the CR-V and Pilot are doing well that Honda will NOT take that as a sign to make more SUV's and Crossovers and less cars. As much as I love Honda, I feel that Honda is going downhill, certainly in styling, but also in some of their models. Take the Insight for example. They are way behind the Prius in sales and fuel economy. The CR-Z is underpowered, the Fit is still a hit, but the Accord needs a redesign. Thankfully for Honda, the new Civic looks like it will be popular. As for Acura, they are a joke IMO. Wretched styling and overpriced. Maybe Acura should get the big axe. They do not seem to be able to compete with Infiniti and Lexus.

the accord should be a full redesign for next year as well.

^ Correction to my post. I meant to say, "I hope that since the CR-V and Pilot are doing well that Honda will NOT take that as a sign to make more SUV's and Crossovers and less cars.

I fixed it for you.

... an 09 element cannot be selling for that, or that explains why it's still sitting there.

here are the 2011 prices NEW

$20,825
2WD LX

$22,075
4WD LX

$22,935
2WD EX

$24,185
4WD EX

Ouch! Are those prices US ?
lol that certainly would explain a lot ha ha ha
Ours had a new List price of $33,000 (at least thats what we are shown) and our owner will not take a loss on one...even if that means we get to watch it rust :P
its the EX 4WD

oh, yes - my bad. Those prices are for the United States

Canadian car sales prices are just ridiculously high...because of the 3 taxes we have..GST, PST, and HST.

Haha I think driving one across the border would result in some fines/fees

Its actually not that bad, You have to pay the Provincial Taxes for your province when you register the vehicle (which wouldn't come close to the almost $10k difference in price) Had a friend do it for a 2007 Subaru Impreza he picked up in the states and drove back. However not something i would recommend either.

The Detroit News reports that the Honda Ridgeline isn't going anywhere any time soon. Sage Marie, manager of truck product planning at Honda, has said that the rumors of the vehicle's demise have been greatly exaggerated, and he says that the Ridgeline serves a key role in the company's product line. Marie also said that the truck will continue on into the foreseeable future. That's despite the fact that the model has seen its sales implode over the past few months. According to The Detroit News, Honda only managed to sell 6,500 Ridgeline models through the first nine months of this year.

Last year, the company sold 12,700 units during the same period.

While some of that drop can be attributed to production delays tied to the earthquake and tsunami disasters in Japan earlier this year, it's difficult to discern how much of the blame lies on a tired product or the continued improvement of fuel economy numbers on full-size trucks. Marie confirms that 2012 will see new aesthetic updates added to the Ridgeline along with the addition of the new Sport model
