How to remove seized nut from loose stud

Anyone who has done an 8th gen header install may know what I am referring to. A thread here on 8th addresses the same issue.. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/header-discussion/270775-middle-header-install-quick-question.html

Of the two nuts I needed to remove, one came out with the stud still intact. Anyone know how to get the nut off? The thread on 8th has some suggestions though I'm not quite sure to execute them. I really don't want to use vice grips.

the one mentions to put two nuts on the other end. You'd put a vise grip on the inside nut of the double side, and then a vise grip on the nut at the other end. If you just did 1 nut on the end, I'd imagine it'd just spin trying to remove the other side. The 2nd bolt snugged on the 1st should help

I'll see about picking up another nut when I have to go to the hardware store tomorrow, otherwise I'm just gonna thread it into the head as is. It should work the same that way.
