It's for a small casting engineering company that is literally less than 10 blocks away from my house. I hope I land this job so I wouldn't have to rent an apartment or worry about driving far. This way, I'll be able to pay off my student loans while living at my parents house. Lol. I'll be able to pay off my expenses faster and I can also save up for grad school, car parts, and future plans (a house maybe?). If I do get this job, I'll work at the company for 5-10 years.

The company is called Atlantic Casting & Engineering. It's a company that makes castings for different industries, such as medical, military, commercial, etc. http://www.atlantic-ce.com/aboutUs.html

I'm so stoked!

Thanks Ken. Aren't you an engineer? Have you dealt with CNC machines?

Yes. I am an engineer, and our company has CNC machines. I do not personally deal with them, but am aware of how they are set up and used.

sooo basically you're going to be making car parts on the side ;)
good luck in the interview

The job description was asking for a Design Engineer, so I sent the company a bunch of engineering drawings that I made over my college career and random drawings that I do on my free time. But I think they will be looking for a Quality Control Analyst or something similar.

I will be making a non-ferrous robotic suit that is completely irrelevant to a marvel comics character. :shhhh:

I had the interview at 11:00am. I left my house at 10:50am and got there at 10:52am. :rotfl:

I had a pretty good interview. The company was making a lot of foot pedals for Boeing planes when I was on the site.

They told me to take a course on GD&T and Blueprinting when I take my Masters because they were surprised that my school didn't offer them as general undergrad courses. They liked my resume and some of my engineering drawings. They also liked how close I lived and how convenient that is to them. Lol.

I sent them a follow-up email letter as soon as I got back home so it would look better on my part. :woot:

^^ that's great! Also, good idea on the follow-up.

Thanks! I hope I can beat the competition. One of them is actually a good friend from my school. At this moment, we are at war for this position. Haha.

I will be hearing back from the company a few weeks from now.

Make sure your friend somehow trips and breaks a finger....lol

Just messin' :giggle:
