So the gf got a dog for Christmas and she has two cats..... So today I got off work and picked up a Jack Russel mix. I am in search of a name for this guy. So far the names that have come to mind are
torque
Vtech or V for short and
sprocket
My gf said that dogs respond better to 2 syllables vs just one. So I am stuck now. Here is a pick of him

If you guys would please respond with some names. Keep in mind Jack Russell terriers are hyper so looking for something along those lines.

Actually dogs don't respound to names, and should not be used in training, stick to key words matched with a hand signal. Names are for telling others what it's name is.

Jack Russel's are smart and independent, best to keep it under control from the 1st. Reward for doing what you want(pet or treat or verbal). It's best not to do any negative training, just work harder on teaching it the positives.........
Is this your dog or your gf? Do you two live together? Why? the dog will need consistency from you both, as not to confuse it.
Cute dog, my infamous saying when asked if I like dogs, I say "I love dogs, it's ppl I have a problem with".

Vtech is a children's toy and telephone company.

Thanks everyone for all the help/corrections and names.
Vtec is correct, I had a brain fart.
I'm sure as the days go by something will stick. Monk thanks for the great advice, its been years since I have kept a dog. My last one was a black and tan shepherd and pretty much was a huge lap dog. I do live with my gf and the house has 2 cats (males) and the 2 dogs Bella and the new guy. We will work together to train him/them.

Cute doggie... I would incorporate the name in training and even incorporating different tones. If he is good happy tone, done something wrong a disappointed tone and if angry at him use a angry tone....

I used this for my cats and I can just use the right tone and there name and the act correctly...
