MAPLE VALLEY, Wash.(UPI) -- A Washington state couple victimized by an identity thief said the culprit added insult to injury by sending them a rose with a "Thank You" card.
David York, 28, of Maple Valley and his wife, Jenelle, 27, said their credit card was declined May 31, so they called their bank and discovered suspicious purchases had been made, Seattlepi.com reported Thursday.
York said the illicit purchases were made from companies including an overseas jewelry Web site, Netflix and online florist FTD.
He said the mystery of who the identity thief bought flowers for was solved three days later when a rose appeared outside his front door with a card reading, "Thank You."
York said Bank of America refunded the money -- totaling $400 -- from the illicit purchases.
"I'll send flowers to him when he's in jail," David York said.

The one good part is, with that kind of ego the thief has, he is probably going to get caught rather quickly.
