Sometimes i have to reflect on things to have them settle in and form a opinion. Sometimes i am extremely impulsive.
For example when the wife and i went car shopping we both really wanted a new car, I had my heart set on a Civic Si, my wife more so on a good reliable vehicle that we would be able to hop into on a moments notice and drive across the country in.
So was my delight when my wife said " You should buy the car you want, not the car you should " while we were test driving a 2012 Civic EX coupe.
So i repeated that line back to her as i signed the paperwork on the 2012 Si HFP coupe " This is the car i really want "
that being one impulsive moment and another being on Thursday, I went to work Thursday morning, i work 7 am to 7 pm and it started to pour rain at 7:30 am so they called it a rain day and sent everyone home, so i was home by 8 am. Now i live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and had some stuff that needed to be taken care of in Dryden, Ontario which is approx a 4.5 hr drive and around 353 kms.
So i called and made a appointment for 1:30 pm and hopped in the car and took off.
Stopped on the highway just outside the city and fueled up drove to Dryden and then back almost to the same garage that i had gotten fuel and had covered 626 kms and averaged 6.7 l/100 km on a single tank, likely could have made it to the same garage but didn't want to temp fate too much
So now the impression part, I am so Impressed with this Car!, I can hammer on this thing in and around the city and the fuel mileage isn't the greatest 22 mpg but it looks smoking hot , tit for tat
Then you go get on the highway and the car still looks stunning and gives you 35 MPG!
I know this isn't a real economy car, that was the EX that the wife and i drove and neither of us liked it very much, but to look this good and have 200 hp and return 22 city / 35 hwy that's awesome.
Mind you i do have some real dislikes in this car after owning it for couple of months but they are overcome by the joy i get when i go outside and look at it
