A research group at the Tokyo Institute of Technology is developing a cooking simulator designed to help anyone prepare the perfect steak. It features a force feedback frying pan and a digital spatula that accurately recreates the sense of cooking.
Amateur cooks can turn the steak and move the pan and to feel a simulated resistance that mimics the weight of the ingredients. The simulator also calculates the heat transfer from the pan to the meat and displays the visible changes that would occur.

I wonder if it'd just be cheaper to buy some steaks, and use trial and error. Invite your friends over to help. Make a a party of it.

I use an instant read thermometer for a thick steak. Otherwise, I use a knife to cut/peek inside after I've poked it with my finger to sense firmness.

It's also important to realize that a steak continues to cook for a couple of minutes after you take it off the heat.

I cook it for 15min on one side and 10min on the other (or depending on the thickness of the cut). Then I leave the steak in a cooler for about 30min to an hour to to make it more tender and juicy. The steak remains warm when served. Bon appetite!

 a cooler for up to an hour after cooking... and it's warm? whaaa

Coolers also insulate heat. Lol.

The way my friend's uncle cooks his brisket is by slowcooking it for 12 hours and keeping the brisket in a cooler for about 24 hours.

I'm feeling hungry now.

so you let it sit in something like this for an hour after it's done cooking???

I've just never heard of anything like this
