Hey guys just wanted to post my review on a product I used.
Meguiars leather cleaner/conditioner spray
This product was a huge disappointment. I purchased and really wanted to give it a chance as I like all other meguiars products. I tried it on my wives car. Spray like a white milky liquid. I followed the direction and it made the seats greasy a bit and VERY SLIPPERY. I wiped down as much as I could however when my wife drove the car the next day, she said she was sliding all over the place. Smell was ok. nothing to rave about. It really felt like it was a creamy lotion and not really a cleaner.
Sonax Leather Foam
So I was recommended this by a friend and said it would clean and leave a nice matt look. After applying the meguiars leather spray I ordered 2 cans from amazon and rushed delivery. This stuff worked GREAT! I sprayed he foam on the seat and in seconds you saw it get to work. once I wiped it off, it cleaned the seats nicely and left a nice matt look. I like it because it cleaned, and left it mat, also because of the beeswax ingredient there was NO sliding at all. In fact it made the seat feel like it had more grip. Also made the leather more firm. The protectant coat it leaves can repel spills i read. The product smelled like a chemical. thankfully it wears out quickly.
Ziano Leather cleaner - conditioner
I love this stuff because it cleans great. The cleaner lathers up when you scrub just like water/soap combo would. The smell is GREAT!! It's very well known for it's real leather smell. The conditioner also hydrates and makes the car smell GREAT! Only bad thing is, it wears off on your clothing. After a few days, my shirts, jeans, sweater, etc... smelled like leather. I didn't like that. It was annoying to smell like leather when i was not wearing any leather product.

So I read reviews and people said they liked this. I figured I'd give meguiars a second try. I'm glad I did. The gel came out feeling like regular aloe. It spread VERY easy all over my seat. I scrubbed with mico fiber towel and it really picked up dirt. Then it was shiny. As per the instructions, apply and wipe all around. ones done, wipe with different micofiber towel. I was hoping the shine didn't stay. and it didn't! The second hand of microfiber towel removed any additional cream and left the car...surprisingly matt! It was VERY LIGHT shine. I would say 5% shine. I don't mind having a matt seat however i think matt looks clean but dull and out of life. That's why I used their ultimate protectant for my dash. It has UV protection and it makes the black darker, richer, look better. Well the meguiar did just that. It turned my seats from dull matt clean look to darker black 5% shine. So minimal, it's matt with a tiny tiny tiny bit of shine. I wouldn't call it shine, i would call it a condition look.
Comparison:
Cleaning - Sonax and Zaino cleaned about the same. 5 star
Smell - Zaino has the best smell 5 star
Feeling - Sonax left the seats feeling FIRMER.
Meguiars Gel made it feel softer and subtle similar to Zaino
Meguiars Spray made the car feel greasy, slippery, shiny
Appearance - Sonax 100% mat. dry matt clean look
Meguiars made it matt with a little condition look. darkens the color making it appear more vivid
Meguiars spray made the car look shiny
Zaino made it similar to meguiars gel
Conclusion:
I will stick to sonax and meguiars gel. You DON'T have to stick with one guys. That's my point of view. They both protect your seat. My plan is to use Meguiars Gel in the winter, fall, spring. I feel here in NJ when it gets below zero, having my leather feeling more subtle and conditioned can only help prevent cracking, even though I know the the cream doesn't penetrate the coat, it does maintain ti softer. in the summer time, I will use sonax once a month to keep it clean. In fact I feel I can use sonax onces every season as a tough cleaner when I detail.
LOVE keeping my car inside looking/feeling great and protected. I take pride in having my car look great when people enter my car.
