LED headlight bulbs?

Hey guys. I've been on a mission on replacing my stock hologen bulbs and have a question.

I wanted HID with projectors but that "retrofit" was going to cost me $500+
If I did it myself I run the risk of messing something up, and don't want to do that to my 2014 civic
If I buy Silvania Ultra star i get better lighting then stock, but i would have to replace them every year.
If i don't retrofit and just do HID, i run the risk of blinding people and getting a ticket.

From what I read, you don't need projecrors and they replace your existing bulb. GREAT benefits, better lighting, 50,000 hours of lighting, 6000k, etc....
But looking at the pictures, it looks like there are cables. As far as I'm concerned, the regular bulbs are just that... bulbs.

Has anyone tried this? do I need anything extra? I'm looking to buy this asap but just do'nt know what else i'm going to need and if this will require me to modify any cables on my car.

Please help. It's supposed to be a birthday gift to myself from my wife, and I want to take advantage of their sale, however i just don't know if this will be tough to install. Also does anyone have these on?

Use coupon code "9thcivic" for $25 off. It should work on those. I can tag them @XenonDepot or give them a call? They may run off a ballast, but I'm not sure. I can't seem to find much info on them & the pics don't show a ballast.
 
I believe they run on constant current drivers (its a box like thing similar to ballast). I haven't seen beam patterns on LED low beams before, but I assume they need some headlight adjustment.

And LEDs do use less energy, but they do create a lot of heat. The silver seatbelt like ribbon coming out of it is for heat dissipation (like a heat sink on a computer). Make sure you leave enough room for them when you put them on
 
I jut bought some for my high beams a couple weeks ago from xenon depot. I really like them. They have pretty good output also. Just have to make sure they are in properly. When I first put them in they were a little loose and wasn't shinning in the right direction. Once I moved them around a little bit and got them aligned with my low beams they were great. I have hids in my low beams and they actually seem brighter than them and I'm thinking about putting them in my lows also. As far as wiring they have just a short cable that plugs into stock wiring. For high beams you have and extra cable you have to buy for the DRL to work. By the way I have an 8th gen not a 9th not sure if there is much difference.

Awesome to hear! I guess I don't need anything else. I was up for hours last night watching videos on other brand and seeing how they install it. If there is a discount code I'd like to use one = ).

I tried to take some of the output but they didn't come out very good. The install is a breeze, basically just remove old bulbs and putt in new ones. The mesh heat sink needs to be spread out so the heat can dissipate properly. I will see if I can get a few pictures tonight when I get my car back from the mechanic.

Thanks for the info! That would be great! I'm leaning towards this.

I guess if there is no $25off I will get the websites 15% discount with their code and buy it tonight.
 
The $25 off was for hid kits. I went back and looked at their threads where they mentioned the code.
 
Heres the bulb and wiring. On the left is all you should need for the low beams and it just connects to your stock connector. The wiring on the right is what it said I needed for the DRL, but I am not sure if I needed it or not since when I plugged everything in without it it still worked.

Looks good. Would you recommend it? Here in NJ it get as cold as negative 0 and over 100 degrees at times. I don't want to burn out my cables or anything, if that's possible. Since I see others have a fan or metal umbrella thing. I know these have a seatbelt thing that I will spread but do you think it is ok. If so, i'm placing my order tonight!
 
I think they would be fine, but I haven't had them long enough yo know for sure. It gets pretty hot here but not as cold as that. I like the idea of the mesh heatsink over the fan for the reasons they state on their website. The fans can go out and stop working and then it won't be helping keep it cool where as the heatsink should always work.
