Lego warship unveiled in New York

A Lego artist has completed a 22ft model of retired US aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid.

Ed Diment, 39, unveiled his project aboard the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum where it will be on display until Sept 11 2011.

It took the management consultant a year to complete the 250,000 brick model and thousands of painstaking hours.

He said: "I looked around online and I really liked the look of the Essex-class carriers.

"I had been to New York before, and I had seen the Intrepid – I didn't get the chance to go on board her – and I thought, well that will be the thing to do, build the Intrepid."

I want to know the cost of creating these things

I've been on the Intrepid, and it is not made of Legos. However, I am perplexed how he wanted to make this model, but did not go onto the ship. :scratches:
