lowering the steering column

Has anyone been able to modify the steering column tilt to be able to lower it a bit more?
 
can I ask why you want it lower? I was trying to find an image of the 9th mechanism, but was unable

here is a another civic one - you can kind of see how the column can move in the track up & down.

If I remember correctly, the 8thgen had more room to move downward than these current gens. At least, that's how it seems.
 
does the drivers seat still ratchet down on the 9th gen?

So basically it's on a track and would not be able to move down any further? I was kinda hoping for a simple mod that I can do myself.
It's a comfort thing for me, I prefer the wheel to tilt down lower than it does.
 
I haven't seen the 9th, but I would imagine it being close to that design. I don't see that being a simple fix/change
