Man grows nose on forehead

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -A 22-year-old man in China who suffered a bad accident that resulted in a disfigured nose is almost ready for a nose transplant.

The new nose is being grown on the man's forehead.

Cartilage taken from his ribs, skin from his forehead and a tissue expander were used to develop the nose that will be used in the transplantation.

"I think they found that was the best place where the skin and cartilage would work best," said Dr. Roshini Raj.

Once the nose is moved the patient will have a small scar on the forehead.
