Hey guys, just thought I'd share my story and some pics of my car. This is my new civic, and I love it. It was exactly what I wanted.

Truth be told, I wasn't really interested in buying any new car before I got this. I had contemplated it, but I love the car I was driving (99 civic coupe).

Well after owning this car for almost 2 years and having invested almost $10,000 all in all, I was alerted to the suspicious lack of vin tags remaing on the car. I had bought it off craigslist and didn't really know what to look for when buying a used vehicle. Turns out this car was sold as a 97 Hx model, but after some digging by a detective it turns out its actually a stolen 99 ex and had its vin swapped. Basically a fraudulent vehicle. It was a devastating day because I was told I can take all my parts off, but the shell was going to be crushed. All in all the car was a problem from day one and I just never wanted to give up on her.

So when I started shopping around for a new car I already like the restyled civic coupe. I always like the 8th gens but something about the coupe I didn't love. I think the 8th gen 4 door is straight sex though. But I wanted a coupe. It was really hard to come by a white coupe Si, so I was glad when I was told by a friend they had just got one in at the dealership right by my house. I saw it that day and drive it home the next. I have a lot of plans, I want it to be pretty modified like my last one. Maybe just not as low, I really like being able to go over speed bumps lol. Here is my new civic just stock. Not the best photos. Got some emblems, fog light, and his kit coming in. I'll keep this thread updated with pics as I add stuff.

sorry to hear about your coupe...that sucks. I can't imagine what it'd be like to strip the car down after doing so many updates . On the bright side, you found yourself a great taffy coupe!

Yeah I was bummed it had to end the way it did, but I got a newer, much nicer car. And I learned A LOT from this experience. When I first got the ek coupe I didn't know much about cars in general. So even though it was a loss, the knowledge I gained was worth it to me in the long run.

Wow, sad story. That EJ looked very clean too. At least you won't have the same problems with the new ride. Welcome to the site. :thumb:

A car can be towed without wheels? I didn't know that.

For some reason, I thought cars are required to have the wheels/tires when getting towed even with flatbed towing.

look at cars that have been wrecked really badly.. they just winch them up on the bed and strap them down. Sometimes the car is just in pieces.

That's true. The car had to be crushed so I guess they didn't really care what condition it was in.

Thanks for all the love people. Yeah it sucks, but the feeling of joy I get everytime I drive my Si now slightly outweighs the sad feeling.

I was kinda surprised too, but why waste good steelies if it's just gonna get crushed I guess lol.
