Need To Wrap Silencer In Something.

Good morning,

I purchased a silencer for my Invidia N1. I am very happy with the silencer, and the calmer tone it gives the exhaust.

Nonetheless, the silencer bolts into the exhaust using a single bolt located at the bottom of the silencer/exhaust. The problem I am having is that the silencer does not completely fill the void of the exhaust so when I let off the throttle to slow down I get a buzz due to the silencer vibrating within the exhaust.

I did a test, and I wrapped the silencer with duck tape to make it thicker to create a snug fit. This resolved my issue, but I took the tape off because the tape will not last, and will turn to a gooey mess.

I was thinking about header wrap, but I need something that is going to be sticky to hold it on.

Any ideas on what I can use? Sticky exhaust wrap would be nice.

Below is a picture of the silencer. The inner second ring is what I am wrapping.

Thanks in adv.

Drill another hole for the opposite end and get new hardware.I recommend some type of locking nut or use lock washers and flat washers. Wrap it in thermal duct tape. Also plastidip the face that shows (looks like nothing is there).

Flippercon, I knew that sounded familiar, I follow you on IG. I painted the tip already with black engine paint. I will check out the thermal ducktape, and if need be I will drill a second hole.

Thank you.

just my 2 cents but take it out and plastidip that second ring with a couple heavy coats. plastidip is rated at like 300 degrees if im not mistaken and that should buffer the noise a bit.

I will give that a shot. I used some aluminum tape, and it worked, but still gets a bit gooey.

try dipping it but like i said make sure you use HEAVY coats so that if you do need to remove it you can easily.

but just a note to cover my *** make sure you read the label of the dip to make sure its safe at heat. I AM NOT TO BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Ha no worries -The tape works well enough to appease me so I may not even bother with the plasti-dip.
