does anyone know where I could get a good price on a set of OEM headlights for a 15 ex sedan. Stupid shop that I got my retrofit done at completely botched it. Projector is right up against the lens. Shroud has a scratch on it (on both sides) and the beam...yeah you could see the picture. Getting my money back and getting it done again somewhere else.

Oh and they painted my high beam housing black when I asked them only to do the low beam housing.

Sigh

yikes. I hope you can get your money back. That really sucks.

I'd look for a set on ebay from a wrecked car if possible. If you aren't able to locate some -

really sucks they screwed them up. Can you take a picture further back to show more of the whole headlight from the front? You may be able to actually have those headlights reused. One of the problems is that they got the rotation on the projector wrong, so that caused them to be slanted like that.

Can you snap any pics of the back of the headlight in the engine bay with the rubber gasket (if they used one) pulled back? I'm curious how far back the projector was mounted, or if they used jb weld...or what method was used. Someone may be able to cut the projector out and actually mount it properly in the headlight without you having to buy another whole set of lights.

Yeah I'll try and take some more pics tomorrow @webby

Problem is they blacked out the high beam housing
-_- I told them not to

I'm actually talking with kustom54lighting right now for a fix. The owner Pavel is freaken awesome.

The projector being up against the lens isn't a issue as long as the projector is positioned correctly. Also that beam pattern looks like it can be easily fixed, just needs to be adjusted upwards and it looks like the bulb isn't seated 100% correct. Although painting the high beam black was dumb, however Pavel will certainly make things right and get you taken care of if you decide to have him do the work.

@FRDRICE yesh I can't believe they painted the high beam housing black. Did you see the shroud though? I sent pictures to Pavel and he listed so many things wrong lol. He couldn't believe that they would leave the paint chipped like that

@webby they offered me 200 back. Not settling.

Thanks for the collegehillshonda link. Pavel is helping me get a pair of 2013 headlights since they both fit and it's a little cheaper.

did you buy all the parts from the retro place? (bulbs/projectors/shrouds/hid kit/ballasts/harness/....)

was the 200 a return on labor? No idea how they charged you initially

If you go on FaceBook there is a local person selling a brand new set from Honda on a 9th civic page for $300 obo

Labor was originally quoted at 500 for a "Base price." And then 80 for paint. I ended up being charged 700 because it required "extra work then thought." I called while they had my car and made sure that them having my car longer than expected did not mean I had to pay more, and the guy on the phone said I was good. Then I get there and it's $700....

And no all the parts were from TRS

@ClearCutSi which Facebook page

so when they offered $200 refund on the $700 you declined and then hung up the phone.... or what are you planning to do?

So this is the last email I sent.

Like I said earlier, you did tell me that the shroud is touching the lens. I acknowledge that. But you did not tell me that the paint was chipped.

*I requested pictures on two occasions of the progress of the work and was not sent any.

*I was told that the overall price originally quoted would not change because you had my car longer.

*The chipped paint wasn't even mentioned when I picked up my car by any of the staff.

*if I were to have mentioned the chipped paint, what would you have done? I'm mentioning it now and not once has a solution been offered to fix it. So what would have been the difference last night? I'm sure I would not have received my car back if I refused to pay.

*if you knew the paint was chipping because the shroud was big for the headlight why not offer me a different shroud?

*Now I have to buy new headlights to get the job redone.

*I have gotten other expert testimony saying that the job should not look like that.

I get that everyone makes mistakes, but the thing that I am most upset about is you did not even offer to fix the paint.

Another email I sent

I can assure you that the tech did not mention the paint coming off. I do acknowledge that I was notified that the shroud was touching the lens, but never did he mention the paint is chipping off. Would anyone in there right mind be ok with paint chipping off?

Also, I asked the tech on two occasions on Tuesday to send me pictures of the progress which he failed to do.

If I would have mentioned the paint chipping off yesterday evening, you would have told me the same thing. So what is the difference? I doubt that you would have taken apart the headlight again at closing and fixed the paint.

Not to mention, I called last Friday and was said that the job could be done in one day. That is why I scheduled an appointment for this past Monday. I made the drive and arrived on time for the appointment. 40 minutes later the tech told me the job could not be done in one day. Why in the world was I told that it could be done in one day on Friday? I would have adjusted my schedule somehow to accommodate the extra time it would take for the job

I was told that the job would take longer in order to "do it right." It was unfortunate, but I was willing to wait for it to be done right. Is paint chipping off "doing it right?" I should have received a call saying that the shroud hitting the lens would mean paint would chip off. I should have been recommended a different shroud at that time and would have been happy to pay for a different one.

And one last one

If we want to get picky, I was originally quoted on Monday 500 for installation. 80 for paint. 100 for angel eyes. The angel eyes did not end up being installed, so that puts the total at 580. I called Tuesday to make sure that the price I was quoted would NOT go up because you had the car longer. The tech told me that the price would not go up.

And then I ended up paying 700 for the install.

As for yesterday, would you have really released my car back to me if I would have mentioned the paint chip and didn't want to pay? Would you have fixed the problem free of charge? Judging by the amount of work required to reopen it and paint it, I doubt it.

Wow man. Sounds like a shady shop. I hope that it all gets resolved and these scammers go out of business.

Hope that we can help point you in the right direction to new lights and possibly a better vendor for the job to be done properly.

@mhjung i wish you the best of luck. Hate these shady shops that just screw people's **** up and think it's fine. Not sure if you did (might have missed this detail) but in the future I would pay with a credit card. Might make it easier to get your money back if things go south. Again, good luck!
