Don't know if any of you guys are fans of the UFC, but I am a huge fan, I haven't missed a fight since '09. Anyways tomorrow, the biggest fight in UFC history is taking place. The rematch between UFC middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva vs Chael Sonnen. Silva, who is 14-0 in the UFC, has not lost since 2006. In their first match Chael Sonnen dominated Anderson for 4 and a half rounds, until Anderson caught Chael in a Triangle Choke in the 5th round.

Also, in the co-main event, Tito Ortiz fights for the last time against Forrest Griffin.

I cannot wait for this card. Full fight card is below with what is at stake/notes/my picks.

MAIN CARD ON PAY-PER-VIEW
Anderson Silva Vs Chael Sonnen -For The UFC Middleweight Championship. Sonnen has won his last 2 fights since losing to Silva. Call me crazy but I am picking The American Gangster Chael Sonnen to finally put an end Silva's 15 fight win streak.
Forrest Griffin Vs Tito Ortiz -Tito Ortiz's Retirement Fight. Ortiz had not won a fight since 2006 until his victory over Ryan Bader in 2011. Since the Bader fight, he has lost his last 2 fights by TKO . Griffin is coming off a KO loss to Shogun Rua. In this fight I am picking Forrest Griffin. If Forrest's chin is as weak as people say it is, then Ortiz should win. But I believe Griffin beats Ortiz and sends Ortiz off into retirement on a sour note.
Cung Le Vs Patrick Cote -Le is 40 years old and lost his last fight by TKO. This fight could determine is he gets cut or not. As for Cote, this fight is his first fight in the UFC since being cut in 2010. I am picking Le even though he is the underdog just because I like the way he fights.
Dong Hyun Kim Vs Damien Maia -Maia has looked less than spectacular in his last few fights, I highly doubt he will get cut if he loses but it will give him 2 losses in a row. For Kim, he is coming off a win and has looked great in his last fights except for his KO loss to current Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit. I am picking Dong Hyun Kim to win this fight, I just don't think Damien Maia is that scary submission specialist he once was.
Chad Mendes Vs Cody McKenzie -Cody McKenzie is best known for his McKenzietine (A modified guillotine choke). Cody has won 12 of his 13 wins by guillotine choke in the 1st round. Chad Mendes is coming off of his first professional loss. He lost by KO to current UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo. For this fight I am picking Chad Mendes because he has more ways to win this fight and I think he will be smart enough to not fall into the McKenzietine.
Ivan Menjivar Vs Mike Easton -Mike Easton is on a 7 fight win streak. Menjivar is on a 3 fight win streak. My pick is Mike Easton, he may be the underdog but his style of fighting is extremely exciting and I think he can put Menjivar in serious trouble.
REMAINDER OF THE CARD QUICK PICKS ON FX & FACEBOOK
Gleison Tibeau Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov -Tibeau
Melvin Guillard Vs Fabricio Camoes -Guillard
Constantinos Philippou Vs Riki Fukuda -Philippou
John Alessio Vs Shane Roller -Roller
Rafaello Oliviera Vs Yoislandy Izquierdo -Izquierdo

I will update this thread with the winners. Who are you guys picking?

I wanna see the fight so badly. I'll probably end up going to Hooters and watch the fight there. Sonnen can possibly win this fight if he trained hard enough. I also think Griffin and Le will win their fights.

you just order the fights, or are there specific bars/etc that always show them? Hooters shows them everywhere? Buffalo wild wings?

I always order them, I've watched them at movie theaters when they offered them. you can go to http://bars.ufc.com/ to check what bar is showing the fights near you. keep in mind that these bars are the only ones that confirmed with the UFC to show the fights, there may be other bars that will be showing them that didn't confirm with the UFC.

thanks for the link... I'll have to make some calls

Hooters by my area usually show UFC events. Wild wings and beer is always a good combo.

Prelims are about to start on Facebook. Rafaello Oliviera Vs Yoislandy Izquierdo up first

I ended up going to TGIF cuz it's like 5min away from my house. The first two fights in the PPV event were the same, they both resulted to a TKO due to getting hurt on the rib area. I was pretty happy that Chung Le and Griffin won. But I was upset that Sonnen lost. I think the ref jumped in and stopped the fight way to early. Sonnen was defending himself pretty well and was not getting dazed from Silva's punches. It's also a title fight and jumping in like that should've been a later choice.

AHHH! Im mad about the Sonnen fight. He DOMINATED the 1st round. When he threw that spinning back fist it was the beginning of the end. he seemed like he got dizzy from it, then that knee to chest..OUCH. I agree with the ref's stoppage, he was covering up but wasn't advancing or trying to get out of it and if you check the replays he got hit and he kinda went down. It sucks... I waited 2 years for this haha.

Sonnen should've stuck to the game plan, which is the ground game. I didn't get why he did that fancy shmancy spinning back fist. He's the only guy who dominated Silva in a round.

Yeah I completely agree. Unfortunately he did what he did and he paid the price. I honestly believe he is the only person that can beat Silva.

I forgot to add. A storm hit that area right after the Griffin/Ortiz fight so the reception went out since the restaurant was using Dish as the provider. Everyone in the restaurant was raging and chanting out: "Let's go to Applebees!" and "Let's go to Chillis!". The event then came back on five minutes later. Lol.

Silva is the better, more complete fighter, and proved it once again. I don't think there really are any questions that he truly is the GOAT.

The look on Sonnen's face when he was on the ground and scoots himself back against the cage is priceless. I could watch this over and over.

Silva came out too aggressive in the first round. Sonnen did exactly what he wanted and still couldn't do any damage. I knew it was over when Silva stopped the take down in round 2. He was just toying with him at the end.

What Sonnen was thinking with that spinning back fist, I just don't know. Every fight he loses it's some bonehead mistake like that, that costs him.

Silva is the GOAT. The spinning back fist was a mistake from Sonnen. In the first round he took him down and MOUNTED a BJJ black belt, if he could do that in the first round when Silva was fresh, I'm sure he could do that in the later rounds. Keep in mind that Silva held onto Chael to stop Chael from posturing up. Silva wouldn't be able to keep doing that in the later rounds without his arms getting shot. But it is what it is, Chael made a mistake, now it is time for the next contender to fight Silva.

How do you guys think other contenders will do against Silva?

Silva's ground defense is top notch, as he showed. The key for him was to keep the fight off the ground long enough to do some damage or for Sonnen to make a mistake. I agree, Sonnen could of worn him down similar to last match. Silva knew that however. I didn't see him letting Sonnen him down all fight long.
