Police: Western Pa. man stole forklift, sandwich

A pilfered Reuben sandwich and a stolen forklift have a Pittsburgh man in quite a pickle.

Ross Township police say 38-year-old Sean Faulkner ordered the sandwich from a bar, then ran out without paying and climbed on a forklift for his getaway.

Faulkner allegedly stole the forklift from a construction site on Sunday then drove it two miles to Sieb's Pub.

Bartender Karie Donatelli says Faulkner ordered the sandwich then bolted for the door after his food arrived.

Investigators say Faulkner was still in the parking lot when officers arrived. Police say he couldn't get the forklift to go into reverse.

Faulkner is being held at Allegheny County Jail on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. Court records do not list an attorney for him.

I had a friend steal a forklift and proceeded to try to outrun the police department...... Needless to say he was arrested.

5yrs... probation? I've read stories of rapists getting out in 5yrs.

He was charged with grand theft, evading the police, assautling the police and shooting at the police. So almost 5 years for all of that.

I think it is funny how the law works, some people who should be not allowed to walk the earth get little time but when u do something not as bad they throw the book at you.

I missed the "shooting" at police comment. I saw the assault comment. They could tack "assault" on from something really minor though. Shooting at police is usually frowned upon, and he's probably lucky they didn't return fire..or if they did, that he wasn't killed in the process

from what i was told my friend stole the forklift cops started chasing him and he ended up getting stuck. For some reason he fired on them and ran out of ammo, they came in to arrest him and he started swinging causing the asault of a police officers. i will try to find the new article on it.
