Preload Coilovers before install?

I'm planning on installing coils this week if weather permits and have come across some people saying I need to preload the coils for install? Is this true? I thought they were ready for install. Is it possible they are confusing coils for springs? Any input would be greatly appreciated along with any tips or advice for this install.

Ps. 2013 Si coupe, installing Buddy Club N+ coils and P1 rear camber arms. First time suspension install

Thanks Webby! So just to be clear, it's only the rear that needs preloading? Which would make sense since the front appears all ready to go.
