Question about air suspension.

I don't know very much about suspension systems at all except how to remove and replace them.

I did notice that mostly everyone has coil overs. Well I want to lower my car, but Michigan roads are pretty horrible and my Civic is my daily driver. I think that an air suspension system would be good since I am able to adjust the height easily.

So my questions are, why do many of u guys choose coil overs instead of air suspension?

Is there a particular air system you would recommend?

Also I did a little research on the Airrex system from Taiwan, and curious about your opinion on it. It looks like an easy install with most of the system in a single box:

Why go coils?.....price. $600 to like a grand for coils versus like 3-5 grand for air is a big reason people go coils. Most don't want to deal with the install either. Installing the components in the trunk and running lines isn't something most have done.

If you care about performance go coilovers if all you care about is looks then do air

I have heard that some of the new air systems drive very well. However, cost is really the major difference. I'm sure the new Mustang RTR air systems drive very well compared to a cheap coil system but again, $$ for performance vs. being low are different markets. i dont know that there is much of a market for the guys who want to be slammed and then track their cars.

Be prepared to drop around $5k on air suspension. Unless you plan on doing all the work by yourself.

I guess the price is a big factor comparing the two options. I do care about performance, but I do have the EX-L and not the SI. I need to be able to adjust the height when necessary for our road conditions.
