Question about issues running HID Kits.

Guys I here people have problems with lights coming up on the dash once installing a HID kit. Anyone now how to get around this. I hear it's where u mount the ballasts that may interfere and cause check engine lights. I really want to buy a kit. Never had this issue with my 2010 civic but I here this from a few 9th owners then theirs other that have no issues. Guidance please.

Are you running hid bulbs in your high beams, or just your low beams? What message are you getting?

I bet most of the people with issues are running a very cheap kit without a harness. Run a wiring harness and you will have less problems. It not only powers the HID system properly but protects your factory stuff from being overloaded. If your kit came with one then you're all set. You won't get any of the flickering either.

Mount the ballasts in as shielded a location as you can so they don't get constantly soaked or submerged with water. Also keeping them away from excessively hot (exhaust) areas is probably best also.

I'd rather this happen to my $20 harness than my $200 factory wiring system.

No message it's what I've heard that's why I'm trying to figure it out before I install them. Their Coming in tomorrow. Anyways I'm just gonna mount the ballasts on the or near the front crash bar. I hear it's if you mount the ballast near the abs module it starts throwing a code. And their for my low beams.

Thanks I didn't cheap out. I bought the xenon 9006 / HB4 Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits from Kb. Had them in my 8th gen and loved them. I had 6000k in my 8th this time I went 5000k for more white than blue and better output. Also picked up my H11 30W XenonDepot LED Fog Light Bulbs

Interesting... maybe it's some type of electrical interference then..... Let us know how it ends up.
