Why go out to a restaurant and order a $15 salad when this robot can make one right in your own kitchen?

The CIROS robot has free movement of both arms and hands, allowing it to chop vegetables and add dressing to your salad. But the home-service bot’s capabilities aren’t limited to food preparation.

The machine, which stands just a little taller than 5 feet, is able to recognize objects and keywords. So, it can also set and clean the table and provide beverage service, giving you the complete restaurant experience.

Developed by the Center for Intelligent Robotics in South Korea, the robot in this video is the third and latest iteration of its kind. CIROS 1.0 was launched in November 2005.

Of course CIROS does have its flaws. You still have to buy the ingredients, and your wait time will be ten-fold the time it would take you to just make the salad yourself. But really, it’s just cooler to get your greens from a robot.

There is a wife joke in here somewhere, but I will refrain... :hiding:

Very nice. American..which is pretty much a mutt of a bunch of things.
I was the chief instructor of a studio at 13. 13...yeah, I know. Believe me...things were good..haha

I would rather have a young knowledgeable instructor than an older one that no longer has any flexibility or speed and cannot demonstrate technique properly.

Me too! I was in my prime then. I miss those days.
Then bones started breaking and my health went downhill. Getting older sucks...

...and honestly. I feel I learned so much more from my students than what I could teach to them. They really taught me a lot and really helped me grow as a martial artist and a person. Learning how kids and adults think, teaching kids with downs, autism, severe adhd ...just learning how each individual person learns and watching things *click* when they understand what you're teaching them. Mind blowing.

Yeah, I miss it quite a bit as I only get to practice occasionally and. Not much teaching going on (except for my wife sometimes) I decided to go back to school and am now working on my second Master's degree and got sidetracked quite a bit. I did have a club going on campus for a while. Still have some backburner plans to start a school with a friend/instructor eventually.

School is rough..major kudos on that!

My health has really knocked me out of it quite a bit. I'm still involved and they're like one big family. We do women's self defense seminars also which I was a part of a few weeks ago.
Mr earned his white belt a few years ago haha but he's not into it at all :( I wish he was, it'd be a great thing to do together. He will help us with the seminars though...but typically as a bag holder.
It's just something that stays in your blood...especially if you've grown up with it and been in it this long.

Eh, school is not that bad. I actually find my Graduate programs easier than undergrad. The rough part is working full time, being married to a wife that goes to school full time, and trying to keep up with the joys of owing a house.

Mr is dealing with undergrad right now and graduating with two degrees in the Spring. Finance and Economics. He's doing well but every now and then he comes home swearing haha
Lucky and unlucky for him he can't work until after he gets his green card...so he can focus on school. He'll get that around the same time he graduates with a wife..ha
The wedding planning is stressful though!!!

I take it you don't have any kids to worry about? That would make it really rough...

No kids, just pets. Two cats and two dogs...well one is actually a small horse (Great Dane).

I feel for your soon to be husband. Two tough programs. My undergrad degrees are Finance and Accounting.

We have pets... 4 bettas..and a 55gal tank with 3 bigger fish :P Easier to get away from than dogs haha. Cats are fairly easy to leave alone for a bit, they just don't like it. LOL
Making sure someone is always there to make sure the dogs get walked must be rough with you both going to school and working.

Yeah, he's been really tough through it all...which is why I make sure to cook him nice dinners...lmao
Now we've come full circle :rotfl:

Fixed that for you! :bananapoke:(sorry, couldn't resist)
If it is any consolation, I do the cooking.

Fortunately, we have some great friends who are always willing to help out with the animals. Unfortunately, no one really has a house/yard that can accommodate my Dane, which means a few trips to the house each day.

:rotfl: I wish he'd do some cooking..but I even have to tell him how long to put something in the microwave. I have no hope in that happening anymore..lmao

That's great! Yeah, the Dane needs a barn haha We're not allowed to have anything but the fish and the parrot. Forgot to mention the parrot. I wish we had a dog but I don't know if we can handle all the responsibility just yet.

My wife insists that I make mac n cheese and grilled cheese better than her...

If you want to know what it is like having kids, get a dog or two. They are just as needy/demanding (in every sense of the word/s), but not as expensive.

I would love a parrot, but would be afraid of what it would say all the time.
