UPPER DARBY, Pa. -
An elementary school student verbally abuses an adult bus aide, and someone else records the entire thing.

The tormenting is so severe that police are finally called in to take control of the chaos.

The incident happened this week in Delaware County, FOX 29's Bruce Gordon reports.

We know the video, posted to Youtube, was shot a little after 4 p.m. Tuesday aboard an Upper Darby school bus, and it shows what we believe to be students from the Upper Darby School District being transported home from a school outside the district.

It's disturbing stuff.

The 14-minute video, apparently shot surreptitiously by a teenager aboard the bus, shows a handful of misbehaving youngsters – probably ages 7, 8 and 9 – making life miserable for a female aide to the bus driver.

Things quickly escalate with a couple of the kids.

"Get your hands off me," the aide says. When the child mocks her, the woman repeats, "Get your hands off me."

And when the child denies anything happened, the woman yells, "Yes you did, yes you did."

One of the children – the Youtube caption indicates he's just 7-years-old – then proceeds to unleash a barrage of foul language aimed at the bus aide.

He repeatedly calls her the "B" word, and the "F" bombs are flying. We've bleeped the worst of it.

Finally, the aide and bus driver have had enough.

"Call the cops please," she said. "Call 9-1-1, please."

But the verbal abuse continued.

Within minutes, Haverford police intercept the bus at the corner of Upland Road and Sherbourne. Police pull two troublemakers off, to talk to them and settle things down as the aide describes what happened.

"The language out of him was horrible. He gave me a push," the aide can be heard saying.

Mary Carney lives just a few doors away and saw the bus and police cars, but she hadn't seen the video, till we showed it to her.

"They're grade-school kids," Carney said.

"They are," Gordon answered.

"And they were driving around for how long?" she asked.

"Well, there was about 15 minutes of video, a good 10 minutes of which shows this activity going on," Gordon said.

"Unbelievable," replied Carney.

In a written statement, a spokeswoman for the Upper Darby School District calls the incident "troubling," and says the district is working with police, the district attorney and other county agencies to address the issue.

Haverford police said their investigation is complete-- that there was no criminal behavior and so, no charges will be filed.

That's an example of bad parenting. It's terrible.

I also find it very disturbing that cops have to discipline these children. There's no other choice unfortunately.

And I can just imagine that nothing happened to them when they got home...smh

This utterly sickens me. It truly shows the state of where our society is.

I have MANY friends who teach various K-12 grades, and they all have said that they can barely do their jobs because they can't discipline kids anymore. Some are afraid of their students, and others are terrified of the parents. The parents who blame the teacher for getting a bad grade - rather than the student.

There is so little accountability in this country anymore, and so little respect. I would instill the fear of god into those children if I EVER heard a child disrespect someone like that, and you can bet I could be arrested for it.

While I am very liberal when it comes to society - I can truly say we've gone soft on parenting. And its out of control - entitlement is the everywhere. And the parents? Can you really even call them that?

I've long since said since the government mandates everything else, they should regulate children. Communistic of me? Perhaps, but I can guarantee you it'd fix the problem in 20 years if you had to perform a background test to have children. The number should be limited to two (there's no need for more than two children). If you're not finanicially or intellectually fit to be a parent - tough ****.

Is that extreme, yeah, but a guy could hope, right? (I don't like kids lol)

All I know is if my son ever acts like that towards anyone (especially an adult) I'm not gonna be shy in saying he won't be able to sit for a while. I figure a day for each cuss word will do it. That's how I was raised and how my kid will be raised. I will also discipline others kids if they are in my care. If your kids are with me they must follow the same rules my kid has to.

Yes, my wife teaches elementary students, and deals with this same issue. The kids know they can get away with anything, and have no respect for their teachers or parents.

Things have changed for the worse.

Simple solution. Bring back spanking. In schools and at home. But that would require society to grow a pair....

I recall teachers having paddles...as well as the principal. If you got into major trouble, you could be paddled.

Something like this, but each teacher had their own paddle, and some looked worse than others.

If the class got disruptive, you'd sometimes see a teacher pick it up and walk around with it.
