Welp, a few weeks ago some people were talking about the project in NJ. At the time I said I was skeptical about that project AND the Austin project now. Why? Because two new F1 tracks in the states simultaneously does not bode well for either one frankly.
Looks like the NJ project has won out (for now) with F1 pulling its race contract and in the process losing 25 million dollars from the city of Austin that were necessary to get the project going. Looks like some fancy-pants east coasters got a little jealous of Austin and pulled some big money to get the project moved (all conjecture, of course)
My prediction? The Austin track is done for. Playing chicken is one thing, but now that there are options for F1 they don't have to play nicey nice with Austin city council, nor all the environmentalists who made everyone working on the projects life a living hell.
