Interesting... what makes them "road legal" just out of curiosity.

The light pattern. Philips would not release these bulbs in North America without having them tested. They are too big of a target for NHTSA, DOT, etc..

Notice how well they distribute the lights? Philips designed these LED replacement bulbs to maximize the use of the reflector bowl - just like it’s designed to be used!

Make sure to check out easy to use HID/LED/bulb Lamp Replacement Guide to see what bulbs your vehicle uses.

Is it like a glass dome on the top? Plastic? Reminds me of the look of a standard hid projector lens.

Correct! However, if you install them in a turn signal application then you would need a load resistor to simulate a load.

What application are you thinking of installing the bulbs in? What year is your vehicle?

2014 civic lx sedan, wanted to replace the inner rear parking light(doesn't light up when the brakes hit), turn signals in the front, and the drl(high beams I guess technically)

thanks for the reply also!
