PUNTA GORDA, FL. - Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives are asking the public for help in identifying two suspects in Punta Gorda Wal-Mart security photos after they stole 47 packages of Frontline Plus flea control packages valued at $1,961.
Wal-Mart security called the sheriff's office on June 24th to report the entire stock of Frontline Plus was missing from the shelves and an inventory showed none had been sold. Surveillance video showed two suspects stealing the packages June 18 at 11:15am. Video shows them entering the parking lot in a silver or white vehicle with a sunroof.
Both subjects entered the store and removed several boxes of the flea control from the shelf and she puts them in her purse. She exits through the garden center, walks to the vehicle and empties the stolen items from her purse into the trunk of the car. She re-enters Wal-Mart and removes more boxes of flea control and again places them in her purse. The man with her exits the store while the woman goes to the check-out register and pays for a bag of dog food and other items. She made no attempt to pay for the Frontline packages and exited the store and went to the car.
The woman is described as being in her mid-40's with brown bushy hair, heavy set, wearing a green tank top and light green shorts. The man, possibly Hispanic, is in his late 30's, short black hair, beard, wearing a blue shirt and shorts.
Detectives say Frontline Plus flea control is not uncommon to being stolen and sold on various websites. If anyone has information about the identification of this couple, please call CCSO detective Richard Nix at 941-639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
