Thoughts about the SI sedan deck lid spoiler

The '14 SI sedan is on my short list for a new car. One of the things that bothers me is the spoiler. I'm a old guy and this may not be a popular topic, but humor me.
Are there any options for a more subdue spoiler? Along the lines of the 8th gen or the 2012. Was the deck lid changed in the refresh from 2012 model? Is that spoiler a option? Have I missed anything? A direct bolt on would be perfect, but probably realistic. Not really interested in removing and plugging the holes and would like to keep the third brake lamp.
Thanks for any and all help.

First off welcome to the forum!

I'm an old guy too, well relatively speaking, and the spoiler kind of grows on you. I hardly notice it anymore.

The '12 Si has a deck lid spoiler. They changed it to the current style in the '13 refresh. It's standard on the '13/'14 Si. I suppose you could swap it with something a bit more subtle but you'd have to deal with the holes from the stock spoiler it you can't find something to line up perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. Doubt there is a option that will line up with the holes perfectly, just looking for something that looks factory and more subdue. Really like the looks of the 8th gen spoiler. Wish there was a factory delete option. Or something smaller.

You could look into an OEM trunk lid for the 2012. Should be a a ma5ch firltwise. Might be a bit pricey though.

Is the '12 deck lid the same? If that's the case I could fill the holes or trade someone for a non SI 13/14 lid of the same color and use a 12 spoiler painted to match.

Here's a picture comparing the two. I'd doubt that it's a direct match just by looking at the pictures. Maybe someone who has either done, or thought of doing the swap could confirm.

Crap! Sorry. The sedan is different. I was thinking of the coupe.

I just checked out College Hills parts site and it seems to show holes in the trunk lid to mount the spoiler on the '13 but none on the trunk lid for the '12. I'm not sure how accurate those drawings would be.

You could ask your dealership what options there are. Maybe they could swap a trunk off an LX or EX and then you could have them add whichever lid or spoiler you like.

As a relatively older guy, I would keep the original spoiler though.
