Too picky about tint job?

I recently got my car tinted and after letting it dry for almost a week now. I have noticed some trouble spots sorted themselves and others have not. There is 1 bubble on each of my driver's side windows, some on the 6" visor in front (few spots it appears that he laid the tint over dirt), and on the back windshield, I have 2 vertical bubbles a few mm wide and like 1-2 inches long as well as 2 inch long trouble spots on the rear defroster. Also, there is some image distortion when I look out my back window. Sorry about all the describing.. I tried to take pictures but my windows might as well be mirrors.. Any input appreciated, thank you!

Take it back and have them redo it or ask for a refund and go somewhere else. If you paid with a credit card, you can dispute the charge if necessary.

When I originally picked it up, the guy who did it was not there and it looked iffy so I did not leave payment. We agreed I would come back a week later and he would fix it but honestly many parts looked like he just went over dirt. I was planning on getting it removed and getting it done somewhere more reputable. With keeping my defroster's safety in mind, I was planning to remove the tint myself so I can make sure its done carefully. I've seen videos where you use a fabric steamer and it comes off nicely. Keeping in mind the tint is not fully dry yet, I was assuming it would be even easier. Thoughts? Thanks alot!
 
You said you didn't leave the payment,k but how much would it cost to get your windows tinted? The place I went to charged me $170 with lifetime warranty. The first time I paid $200 for all windows been tinted. Two guys with 20+ years experience that tint all kinds of cars from Prius to Lamborghini and what not.
 
It's 130 for him. Other shops like 140-170. It's life time warranty but it's just him so it's not backed by anything
 
Most reputable places charge between $150-200.
 
I have no problem with paying more for a good job. Was just wondering if the flaws I noticed were expected or if I should go elsewhere
 
it should not have flaws... go elsewhere and find a reputable shop with experience

There's no such thing about being too "picky" in my opinion. It's either they get the job done right or wrong. Some people call it OCD or whatever but I call that being lazy. They should do their job right.
I would let the tiny dry to see if most of bubbles go away. If it doesn't go back and ask to have it done again.
 
Yeah no payment. It looked awful so we agreed to have it fixed in a few days but he never called/answered. I also think my rear defroster may have been damaged somehow, would anyone mind posting a picture of theirs?
 
water bubbles under the tint will go away with time, bubbles caused by dirt will not. if it looked awful i would have been on their case to remove it within days.

i see youre in md, i had my civic tinted at Driven Dynamics in Rockville (http://www.drivendynamics.com/) they do great work, tinted a bunch of friends cars, no one has had issues from them.

I had my accord tinted down in Roanoke VA, they did a good job too, i had water bubbles that went away on their own. problem with the accord is that the window seals are ridiculously tight, so if you get tinted windows you will get vertical scratches in them, just life with an accord
 
@Scuderi - what part of MD?

What place did you go to? See that's why I worry about going to tint places that are smaller.
 
Frederick. I started to try to take it off today and I should have just left it on. Trying to figure out what to do now trying to avoid spending more money.. :sadface:
 
I'm trying to remove the rear window and it's so slanted in the coupe that idk how ima get it off once I get down near the bottom. Also it's very cold so I'm probably stuck with it looking shitty til spring
 
I would suggest paying the money to take it off. The back window has the rear defrost wires and could be damaged. You'll need to be careful around the back window.
