soo was doing some research and supposedly swapping to after market wheel set up will cause your tpms to go off causing you to not be able to turn traction control off? Is this true, can't you just remove the code with flashpro

As long as you swap the tpms sensors to the new wheels or buy some and have them programed you won't get the light. But yes with the light you can't turn off traction control. Not sure if flashpro can remove it or not.
Thanks that's something I didn't even think thankfully the setup I'm buying has the sensors so I just gotta take it somewhere to reprogram to my ecu

Were they on a 9th gen? Sensors aren't universal, so you'll need to make sure the sensors that are in the car can be read in the 9th gen ecu. Flashpro can't get rid of the tpms light.

Yeah their from my buddies 2012 9th gen that he's parting out.

you're good then. Just have the dealership reprogram them. Dealers around me charge like $50-75 to do it.

Well someone told me that the tpms sensors aren't even on the rims, they they are actually on the car, and calibrate the tpms that way. But I don't really know how that works, so don't take my word for it, they said it was for the 14' si. I probably sound stupid lol.

It's OK. You only know what you're told. Unfortunately you were told wrong. The tpms sensors are on the end of the valve stem inside the rim. There is a tpms module on the car that they communicate with. I know there was someone on here that bought blank programmable sensors and had them programmed to work on his car. Also a while back there was someone on here that bought a tpms programmer and did it himself.

I'm glad Honda got rid of the in wheel sensors for 2014. My car has the traditional rubber valve stem. I'm almost certain the tpms uses rotational speed of each wheel to determine if you're low on air. The new system is more reliable and less maintenance because in wheel sensors are more prone to leaks and do need replacing eventually.

This^. Can't believe how lucky 2014+ owners are who swap winter wheels or just change their setup a lot. Not having to deal with reprogramming and whatnot is awesome.

Should've waited one more year lol! Honda needs to stop doing that kinda crap releasing everything better the next year
