Hello. Good day to all. Hope everyone is fine. I have a FB1 Civic with the R16B1 engine (image below). I suspect that the valves may need adjusting. The mileage is 260,000km and I don't know if any valve adjustment was ever done on the engine. Does anyone know the valve clearance specifications for this engine? Thank you so much for the help.

There should be a sticker under the hood with the specs. I don’t have access to a 9th gen r18, but this is an example from a 8th generation r18.

In- intake
Ex- exhaust

If you don’t have this sticker maybe @Janz3n has access to the specs at his work?

I just realized you said r16b1….

I don’t know if @Janz3n can access those specs as that engine wasn’t available in North America? Wikipedia says:

I do not have access to these specs.
google AI tells me this though
For a 2016 Honda R16B1 engine, the valve clearance specifications are 0.15 ± 0.04 mm (0.006 ± 0.002 in) for intake valves and 0.20 ± 0.04 mm (0.008 ± 0.002 in) for exhaust valves

Hi. Thank you for very much for the advice webby and Janz3n. Unfortunately, there are no stickers under my hood for the valve adjustment settings. When I checked the clearances all the intake valves were set at 8/1000 in and the exhaust varied between 13/1000 and 15/1000 in. I set all the exhaust to 10/1000 in and the car drives just fine. There doesn't seem to be any misfires and I noticed a slight improvement in power also.

I also took a picture of the valves before I mounted everything back up (image below).
