( Aurora,IN )- A man from Lawrenceburg is in jail after he hitched a ride with a police officer.
26-year-old Forrest Clinger allegedly waved down an officer returning from a call on Wilson Creek Road Monday. He asked Sergeant Michael Prudenti if he would give him a ride to work, and Prudenti agreed to do so.
Prudenti ran Clinger's identification through the state's computer system, and soon after, he was alerted that the man had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest.
Upon discovering this, the officer placed Clinger under arrest, and gave him a ride to Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center instead of his job.
Police say Clinger was wanted by Dearborn County for a probation violation.
