The last time we were in a Cracker Barrel restaurant I flipped through one of those "Year you were born" booklets and some of the stuff was pretty crazy. Put down whatever you want from wars, bombings, political, fads, inventions, deaths, price of goods, gas, etc....I'll Start, here are a few events and facts.

Born 1981:

1) The original Model 5150 IBM PC with a 4.77 Mhz Intel 8088 processor was released in the United States at a base price of $1,565.

2) A Minor League Baseball game between the Rochester Red Wings and the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, becomes the longest professional baseball game in history: 8 hours and 25 minutes/33 innings (the 33rd inning is not played until June 23rd).

3) MTV (Music Television) is launched on cable television in the United States.

4) U.S. President Ronald Reagan is shot in the chestoutside a Washington, D.C. hotel by John Hinckley, Jr.Two police officers and Press Secretary James Bradyare also wounded.

5) DeLorean DMC-12 rolls of assembly line.

6) Pac-Man is introduced in the US and sparks a huge craze.

7) The first reports of homosexual men dying due to a mysterious breakdown of the bodies' immuminzation system. Later it becomes known as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, aka AIDS and researches realize it can strike anyone.

1988 The Hubble Space Telescope Goes into operation to explore deep space and is still in full use today mapping our universe. A bomb is exploded on Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie in Scotland on December 21st . Also Prozac is sold for the first time as an anti-depressant some of the great movies that year included Rain Man, Die Hard and A Fish Called Wanda
