Hey, Which HID kit would you recommend. I'm looking for 6000 to 6500k (white with blue tint). There seem to be several choices. I have not checked pricing yet, so other than price what other differences are there between the Xtreme HID kit and the Volt HID kit. Do these kits come with the newer Cree Bulbs?

I have 6000k LED DRL kit so would like the light color to be as close a match as possible.

Hi,

There are 3 main differences between the 2 kits:

1) The Xtreme HID kit will come with a relay harness that will power the ballasts directly from the battery whereas the Volt kit relies on the OEM headlight wiring to power the ballasts. The Xtreme harness will ensure that the ballasts always receive a constant 12V as power is being drawn directly from the battery. However, given that the Xtreme ballasts have a very low starting draw (only 4.5A), you do not have to use the harness.

2) The Xtreme ballasts will be superior to the Volt ballasts as they use a German processing chip that allows the ballasts to monitor the bulb power requirements on a real time basis. This will extend both bulb and ballast life.

3) The Xtreme kit comes with a 3 year warranty whereas the Volt kit comes with a 2 year warranty.

I would suggest going with a 6500k Xtreme HID kit if you wanted to best match your DRL. CREE manufactures LED diodes, are you looking to upgrade your low beams with HID or LED?

Yes, presently I have Nokya Arctic white halogen bulbs in my low beams, but I find they don't give enough light, so am looking to buy an HID kit to replace them.

Is one kit brighter than the other?
Is the special still on to have free fog light bulbs if we order a kit?

Yes, the FREE LED FOG LIGHT bulbs offer is still available - for a limited time.

I would suggest going with a 5000k HID kit, and 5000k LED fog light bulbs if you want more light output. 6500k will get you more color, but less actual useable light output.
