so im wanting some suggestions on valve train help i want to replace valves, springs, retainers, keepers with my cams and oil pump. and I'm gonna be inspecting the bottom end, if its looking rough something will be in order. maybe bore and up the compression.or k24 just depends. but need suggestions on valve train and if i stay k20 what compression if i need to replace things i was thinking 12.5.

Edit: either way gonna go ahead with a k24 its just a tad more expensive.

Most interested in opinions on valves.

thanks in advance,
Steven

as of right now this is my to buy list:
Supertech 92lbs valve train,
MFactory master rebuild kit,
MFactory longer 1st gear,
oem 2nd gear,
oem 3rd gear,
jdm emblems W/ overlays,
Hybrid Racing Short Shifter,
Hybrid Racing Shifter Cables,
Hybrid Racing Tucked Fuel Rail,
Hybrid Racing Tucked Fuel Line Kit,
Hybrid Racing Fuel Pressure Gauge,
Wiseco 86.5mm 12.5:1 cr pistons,
Rods (Not sure brand yet),
86.5 bore.
looking at a grand total of just under 4k but ill have a mildly built transmission, and a fresh engine rebuild, new valve train, valves, and most of all a fun all motor k20z3 FA5.
I'm hoping to have most of this bought and done up my end of the year.
So today I said F-it and sent payment for the zdx tb so no more idling problems anymore and it was getting warm so they were gonna go away but i wanted to have no more idling problems. cant wait for it to get here. gonna be selling the skunk2 when i get it off and give it a good cleaning. Installed my fender liner and the cold air intake tube and with the new bigger filter and velocity stack it just barely fit and I have like 1"-1.5" of clearance from the wheel when turning.

And then I installed my yospeed towhook I got for winning the 12 days of Christmas on 9th civic.

So I test drove a orange 2014 sedan si. I ******* love the interior but I feel like the red and black seats clash with the orange paint. But absolutely love interior with the back up camera and lane switch camera. Im really debating on picking up one. On a side note I GOT MY ZDX TB!!

The 2014 orange fire pearl is a really unique and nice color ill grab a pic in a little bit of it im thinking im gonna save for a down payment so my build will be put on hold kinda, and I might do a little part out of my current car. But will not trade in, maybe sell the rrc and skunk 2 throttle body and sell my tsx cams when I get the go power cams in and sell wheels and go to a stock wheel, and any thing else i dont want.

Cool updates man. I don't know much about upgrading the valvetrain. @Br3TT might know as he is building his 8th gen to be a pretty beasty track machine.

Whats a pocket port? And well im not exactly sure on what ferrea valves to get flat, dome, oversized or not. And I was planning on getting a supertech valvetrain.
But if you know much about transmission gears I could use help.
So im getting mfactory master rebuild kit, and 1st-3rd gears but I dont have money laying around so keep that in mind I was thinking mfactory longer 1st gear and new stock oem 2nd and 3rd but should I just get all oem its cheaper is there a better choice I can get the rebuild kit, mfactory 1st and oem 2nd and 3rd for 1150 + shipping. Not bad I have someone to help me rebuild it so installing wont be a biggie. Opinions and inputs greatly appreciated.

This is the set up im building right now.
K24 87.5mm bore 12.5:1 cr,
K20z3 head,
Type s oil pump,
Ported rrc,
Gopower v1r-2 cams,
Either plm with custom 3" collector or alpha with 3" collector,
Custom exhaust,
Thats the basics
with big cams you do not want oversized valves, they will hit each other. have you bought the type s pump yet? if not i can hook you up with one. V2R cams are legit i had a set and was making 265 with my stock bottom end. custom header for sure to clear the firewall/better flow.

Ok so no go on oversized and on the dome vs flat its basically the same either way as far as ive seen. And as far as a custom header i want to do that but 1500 or what ever for one seems steep if I could find one for like 500-800 for a legit one. And on the type s oil pump I have had it bought for a while thanks tho I got a good deal a brand new conversion with slightly used oil pump for like 125 or something IIRC.
And my cams are the v1r-2 I dont even know the specs ive tried finding them, But cant.
