The May trip was pretty brutal for bikers who refused to cooperate. At one point I ran afoul of a group leaving that stretched forever and was going roughly 15 miles per hour if that.

This is why we're having it the week after a bike rally, so we don't run into this ****, the last 3 years or so fell on the same weekend as Thunder in the Smokies, and we even encountered some on our N.GA drive.

I still remember the pickup truck on the way to Helen that spilt the group up and then didn't get over.... The road finally went to 2 lanes and left everyone behind as I passed him...

Last year when Keith and I went down in the third week he kept saying "I'm telling them all do it this week or don't do it at all." It was pretty empty. I kept asking is it normally this quiet and he would laugh.

Yeah, and the speed they ride at, catching them will still be easy.

I still remember back at 8CCD III, I was riding in Nate's STI, in front of squidmaster, following a group of 2 trikes, and 2 bikers back from Robbinsville thru Fontana to the dragon on RT28, it seemed like it took 2 hours to get from Robbinsville back to the dragon.
We call those "organic speedbumps".

Gonna make me buy new tires. I really would like to be there and see everyone.

Tires for the BMW or Civic? Tirerack is having deals on Potenza S04s, F1 Asym.2, ZIIs, and various Yokohamas, I'm in the same boat regarding tires.

I love my re-11a bridgestones. They run really wide though. I'm slightly rubbing on a stock wheel size and offset in the same size tire I had before with no issue. Just a heads up.

Newsflash: Extreme summer performance tires run wide in all sizes, my quarters are already rolled for such an event.

Civic. I have to go with tires with a decent treadwear. Thinking about the Falken 722, since it is my dd. Sitting around 180k miles now.

Changed my mind on the tires. Can get Nitto Neogens for $300. Don't really want all seasons, but they aren't bad. Yoko S drives are around $340. Thoughts? I am actually at 188k miles
