Intersting theory I heard from my mother today. She said he heard an interview with a Virginia doctor who claimed coronavirus has been in the US for months already and a lot of us may have already had it thinking it was just a cold or flu.

I know I got sick back a couple months back and stayed home for several days - an oddity for me. I had a dry persistent cough for three or four weeks. I had a fever for 5 or 6 days. I even went to the doctor because I never get sick like that for that length of time.

wondering if that’s the case and that’s it’s true that this bug has been around for months already with doctors seeing patients who look like influenza but test negative, if that was coronavirus. That would just go to tell we’ve already been experiencing it for a while and this who world-wide economic shut down is a bit over reactive.

Those 12000 fatalities are just the United States stats. The CDC estimates that up to about 500,000 people died globally from the H1N1 pandemic from a decade ago.

I remember there being a slight fear about it while I was an undergrad back then, but nothing like this! I've never seen this sort of atmosphere before.

farmers market was very scary for me -people who I never saw before were coming there because we have the best fresh food anywhere, but next time I may not show up. I brought a lot of Organic eggs and almost sold out. We are the big organic egg farm in Maine and our product has jumped in demand by over 100% from the last framer's market. People are doing real stupid things and spreading the virus by traveling to places that have very few cases. I think they should shut down inter state travel at the very least. All you have to do is look at Italy to see how bad it will get-they are ahead of the virus by about two weeks.I am going to support the MSP even though they cost me close to $400 in tickets We are in a State of Emergency Now and going to get much worst. I wouldn't want to be a cop right now dealing with infected people not a cushy job any more.

well, looks like we got out of spain just in time. my dad and his wife got out yesterday after waiting almost a full day while their flight kept getting pushed. i think they are currently in paris then to montreal, then to toronto.

They are supposed to be cancelling school in South Carolina later today for the next 2 weeks. My son will have 3 weeks off now since spring break will be the 3rd week. My wife works at a local university and they are going fully online starting tomorrow.

canadian government is letting people in isolation to go on unemployment insurance for the 14 days. you would think they would make it easier to apply though.

Working OT this weekend. They made IT available for some emergency weekend hours, so I'm doing 10-2 yesterday and today. Even get to do it remote, and we haven't heard a peep. Only 2 people all weekend. Basically free money. I'm stoked. And tomorrow is my first day as a full time employee. Exciting weekend.

Congrats on the OT! What did you have to do today? Just take calls for people having issues and remote into them if needed?

Glad to hear everyone is doing good. We're holding steady in southern NC. Besides all the dumb **** you see on the news. It's kinda funny to me that people are this worried about this virus. And the theory about it being like a super flu would make sense. The worst could be past us and we may not know it. The only thing i will say it that it's dormant time while still being active is pretty insane. Making it more highly contageous than most things we've seen here in the states.

But it's inventory week at work, which means i won't be couped up in an office this week and i get to work with the inspectors. So more training on the job im trying to get. Unfortunately it will be a bit of a wait. They prefer for you to have been out there at least a year and then it depends on your job performance. I know I'm good withthat part, just gotta work on the time...anywho, hope y'all had a good weekend and a good week.

It wasn't cancelled because of the Corona. It was cancelled for another reason "School Board opts for post-Labor Day start, shorter spring break in 2020-21 school year"
