So I just failed Smog because I'd just replaced my battery. I've been told to drive it at highway speeds and then come back and pay the retest fee...

I really can't even believe this. And the best part? How will I even know when it'll pass the readiness check? If I don't have any indicator light on, how would I even know something is wrong, or that it's no longer wrong?

That Drive Cycle is intense. IDK where I could even drive like that...

DECELERATE: During this step you want to slowly let off the accelerator pedal. Do not brake or shift your Honda in order to slow down. It is important to let the vehicle coast along gradually slowing down to 20 mph. - Oh yeah, the rest of the folks on the freeway are gonna be real stoked to be behind me coasting to 20mph from 55mph. Not to mention that 55mph is already 10 under the limit.

And it wants you to do all of this from a cold start. I may have to wait until this evening and figure it out. This might throw a wrench in our plans for tomorrow. I mean, I guess we could still do the RSB.

Phew, I'm over here sweating in frustration. I need to chill... I think it may be beer o'clock....

Dope. At this point, I think we'll plan for that. I'm just glad installing the DP was the only reason I was getting smogged today. Registration isn't due until Oct so at least there's that. Just sucks I can't get on with the go fast parts install. I'll probably just need to make this my DD for the next couple weeks. That probably won't even do it though. I drive 6 miles to work and it's all surface streets now. May just have to plan a special drive just for the readiness check.
