I recognize that the rev does hang that long, I'm just referring to perception. It doesn't bother me one bit, so I don't perceive it to be a problem for me.

I've discovered an alternate way to install these projectors without the need to cut or splice the factory harness at all. It costs a few bucks more for genuine Honda parts, but it's worth the expense.

I honestly don't know. I imagine that it won't hold weight properly and could potential warp or strip the metal from your trunk.
I'd recommend just renting out the tool to be on the safe side. If you don't want to rent the tool, then your only other option is to have a Honda dealership install...
